Cephalon profits up, exceeds sales guidance

Cephalon posted profits of $84.8 million in the second quarter, up by 63% as a result of robust sales and the addition of Arana Therapeutics. Profits in the first half rose by 74% to $143.3 million.

The company acquired a controlling stake in Arana in May to boost its portfolio of biologics...
