The US Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) has granted Apotex's request for re-examination of the patent covering Sanofi-Aventis/ Bristol-Myers Squibb's blood thinner Plavix (clopidogrel), as the Canadian firm has taken another tack in trying to have the patent overturned.
