Abbott to acquire Facet for $450 million

Abbott has succeeded where Biogen Idec failed last year in having a takeover offer accepted by Facet Biotech.

Abbott will pay $27 per share for Facet, which values the biotech at $722 million minus its cash and marketable securities of $272 million.
