Lundbeck's commercialisation strategy for its Selincro alcohol dependence treatment Selincro (nalmefene) in Europe will necessitate careful identification of suitable patients, and the mechanism of doing that will vary from region to region, Lundbeck CEO Ulf Wiinberg told Scrip in an exclusive interview. Selincro represents an important part of Lundbeck's future prospects after the company navigates its way around the patent expiry of its top-seller Lexapro (escitalopram; Cipralex). Another key part of its future portfolio is its new depression drug Lu AA21004, a product for which Lundbeck expects to make third quarter filings after reporting positive top-line results from three recently completed Phase III studies.
