US Supreme Court refuses to weigh in on Apotex dispute over Plavix patent

The US Supreme Court has turned away an appeal by
Apotex to invalidate the compound patent for Plavix (clopidogrel bisulfate), in a sure boost for
Bristol-Myers Squibb and
Sanofi-Aventis, as the US patent, No 4,847,265 (the '265 patent), bars generic competition until November 2011.
